The Immediacy Theatre Project (ITP) was officially born with the first production
of 24/6, directed by Kyle Kratky. On December 30th, 2004, a group actors, writers, and directors from the
St. Louis Metropolitan area were brought together under the efforts of Kyle Kratky and Ian Randall. This ensemble was given
twenty four hours to create six new plays. The New Year’s Eve presentation of 24/6 showed before a sold out audience
at the Broadway Center of Arts in Belleville, IL. These plays were performed and the ITP was created.

After this performance, the ITP set up a series of subsequent performances at the Broadway Center of Arts.
For these shows, the ITP imported many writers, directors, and actors from the Chicago area. Within this first
season, the group sought to explore as many different styles of performance as possible and it is within this season where
the ITP premiered their quarterly theatrical assault Drawn and Quartered. Originally writing only about
events within the news, the performers wrote short plays for four weeks, chose their favorites, and performed them in July
of 2005. Since this time, the scope of Drawn and Quartered plays has expanded to include personal events, musicals,
and musings as well.
October, 2005, brought about the ITP’s first solo performance show: Hi-Dentity. Eight ensemble
members each took the stage for performances that explored the nature of identity. Four performers subsequently took their
plays north to Chicago where they were joined by other performers at The Mighty Alliance Solo Show, directed by Jeanine
Marie Vaughn.

The ITP produced its first narrative full-length play in May of 2006 at the Lemming Armada Theater. Johnny
A. Cannon, written by Co-Artistic Director Kyle Kratky, was a satire on pop culture featuring wizards, high-speed car
chases, and a telepathic mind duel.
In August of 2006, The ITP packed its bags and headed off to Indianapolis for the IndyFringe Theatre Festival,
where they produced Interrogations, a new vignette-play exploring interrogations in art, in life, and in politics using
a series of short plays and solo performance pieces.
The ITP has since produced a wide variety of shows in an assortment of venues. It proceeds with its agenda
to explore new forms of theatre through continuing solo performance, Drawn and Quartered episodes, and unique forms
of live entertainment.
